This is how this psalm starts. David is having a real bad time of it. His rotten but popular and handsome son is trying to take over the kingdom. Not only have his enemies gotten together but his ex-friends are now enemies. Oh, and of course since he’s a G-D guy everyone is waiting for him to fail. |
I lay down to sleep peacefully because the L-RD protects me. Ten thousand surround me but, I am not afraid. |
